OP Lab is OP's internal innovation unit. We identify and analyze future phenomena, contextualize them within the business, and test the feasibility and attractiveness of business opportunities. We innovate and implement special projects that improve and accelerate the business using different technologies or ways of doing things. Our OP Lab team consists of just over 30 people working with innovations.

We are now looking for a Lead Developer to be responsible for the development of special projects in collaboration with the business units.

The position

As a Lead Developer, you will play a key role in implementing creative projects that build future capabilities and open new paths for OP Lab. You will be involved in software development yourself and guide and mentor other top-notch developers from OP and our partners.

As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for development definitions, technology choices, and guiding the development team to achieve high-quality results. We work seamlessly with the OP Lab team and OP business experts.

What we expect from you

We expect you to be a versatile development professional with previous experience in similar roles. You have the ability to guide product and service development, take responsibility for diverse projects, and collaborate extensively with stakeholders. You foster an innovation culture within the team and encourage entrepreneurial thinking by promoting experimentation and exploration of new ideas and technologies. You are passionate about innovations and keeping up with the latest technology trends.

In summary, we expect you to have:

  • Several years of experience in software development, including at least one year in a lead role.
  • Skills in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.
  • Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based applications.
  • Understanding of service architectures and APIs.
  • Experience in software project requirements definition and technology selection.
  • Proficiency in best practices of software development, especially agile methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and networking abilities.
  • Fluent proficiency in both Finnish and English.
