Math & Algorithm Oriented Software Engineer Summer Job

IF YOU’RE INTO MATHEMATICS, ALGORITHMS, AND PROGRAMMING WE MIGHT HAVE A PERFECT INTERNSHIP FOR YOU

We expect you to be familiar with Python and Git. Maybe you’ve also dipped your toes into working with a team of coders? Perhaps you’ve experimented with web development, optimised C++ code, or even written your first 10,000-line project. Experience with numerical computing libraries, like NumPy or PyTorch, is definitely appreciated. Countless combinations could make you the piece that fits perfectly into our team puzzle.

We’re looking for someone with a desire to innovate and explore the limits of algorithmic possibilities with us. To thrive in this role, you must be fluent in English and Python. (Don’t worry, Finnish isn’t a requirement.)

Your exact tasks will depend on your interests, skills, and the projects at hand. However, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real-world impact by writing software that automates processes in the physical realm.

As an intern at Digisalix, you’ll have a chance to experience all aspects of our operations and work alongside an experienced team. Digisalix may still be a small, young company, but our founders have several successful exits under their belts.

We help our customers tackle tough problems in areas like autonomous heavy machinery operation (no, sadly not mechas), planning tasks for robots, and applying algorithmic wizardry wherever mathematics and machine learning make sense.

Curious to learn more about us? Check out our website or LinkedIn page.

When can I start? How do I get there?

We have a lovely office near Helsinki railway station, and while we work remotely as well, you should be able to work at the office for the first couple of weeks for important live mentoring and then weekly for some important face-to-face time.

The internship takes place during the summer of 2025 and could lead to a career with us. The starting salary is expected to be in the range of €2,350–€3,100, depending on your skill level.

Get in touch with us by sending your CV or LinkedIn profile along with an informal application to join-us@digisalix.fi. Tell us about yourself and your aspirations. Let us know about your hopes, dreams, pet bunnies, and most importantly—your passion for programming and problem-solving. What have you coded? What languages have you used? How did it go, and what did you learn? Write your heart out—we’re genuinely excited to hear about it!

We are reviewing applications as they come in and will wrap up the process early if we find the perfect candidate, so apply as soon as possible, but no later than February 9th.
