The team you'll be part of
Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and Cloud RAN).
RAN (Radio Access Network) ECP (Edge Cloud Platform) Integration and Verification team in Espoo is looking for Trainees/Thesis workers to work in 5G Cloud RAN infra testing and integration.
We are currently looking for tech-minded students with background of some years of studying in a university, polytechnic or an equivalent institution. You have a tremendous opportunity to put your theoretical knowledge into the practice in our research and development projects. If you are at an early stage in your studies, you can contribute e.g. to lab build-ups, or if you are more advanced, you can work in end-to-end testing, test automation or integration.
You are curious to learn more and you are excited doing a variety of different kinds of tasks as part of your job. You are always ready to share your knowledge and skills among the people you work with. You are a team worker but also efficient on independent tasks, and your English language skills allow you to communicate efficiently in our multicultural environment.
Your team members and colleagues in the tribe are a great mix of talent from diverse backgrounds. You work with multiple stakeholders including project team, technical architects, product managers and specification teams.
Here you can utilize and expand your skills in many up-and-coming areas, including 5G radio access, edge datacenters and best-in-class cloud technologies covering also webscale clouds.

- Learn end-to-end testing of 5G Cloud RAN use cases in customer-like configurations - you will learn how real networks operate!
- Build and configure test environments
- Enabling continuous SW development in agile team
- Execute and automate test cases
Your skills and experience
You have strong interpersonal skills and a passion for learning. You are well-organized, prompt in your tasks and proud of your work. You have an analytical and systematic way of working and you enjoy working with technical teams. You make clear test reports with justified conclusions out of the measurement data. You can execute independent testing work, but you also enjoy working together and collaborating with the team including virtual multi-site teams. You thrive in fast-pace environment, where situations may change and technology develops rapidly.

Mandatory Qualifications:
- MSc or BSc student in relevant area (e.g. computer science, physics, programming)
Skills that would be of advantage:
- Knowledge of software testing processes and automation tools (Jenkins, Github, Robot Framework)
- Familiar with 5G RAN, Cloud and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and/or IP Networking technology
- Experience on installing compute and networking hardware
- Programming skills (e.g. python, shell, bash)
