Trainee, Sales Development Representative

We are currently looking for a Trainee, Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join Vaisala Xweather. You’ll play a key role in driving outbound sales for Xweather, a fully digital subscription service platform, identifying and reaching out to companies and governmental players. Your goal in this role is to open doors, start conversations with senior decision-makers, and book high-value meetings. Contacting is done via email, LinkedIn, and over the phone. 

Your mission: Consistently land high-impact meetings for senior salespeople 

Key expectations:  

  • Reach out to prospects via personalized outreach methodologies and techniques using email and LinkedIn.  
  • Identify potential clients.  
  • Proactively ideate new campaign concepts.  
  • Previous sales experience is a plus: It doesn’t have to be in tech or SaaS, but that's a big plus!  
  • You're a driven and goal-oriented person: We love hitting our targets and exceeding them. You should, too!  
  • You're flexible with working hours: we are a truly global company.  
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). 

Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and execute a strategic lead generation plan involving a custom approach to prospects.  
  • Write B2B messaging for custom outreach campaigns sent via email and LinkedIn.  
  • Schedule semi-automated, semi-manual email send-outs.  
  • Handle responses: work with objections, schedule appointments, and follow up with prospects.  
  • Build long-term, trusting relationships with prospects.  
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market.  
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and sales.  
  • Report weekly metrics and performance goals.  
  • Use automation and AI tools (such as Apollo or ChatGPT) to create and launch outreach campaigns.  
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with potential clients.  

Any of the following is a plus:  

  • Experience or interest in the energy or utilities industry 
  • Experience or interest in the finance and insurance industry 
  • Experience or interest in weather as an industry

This is a hybrid role, and you can work remotely part of the time. As we are building this function, it is important to be present at the office in Keilaniemi, Espoo from time to time to collaborate with the team.
