aTalent

Ritchie Bros, the world’s largest auctioneer of commercial assets and vehicles, is now in a rapid growth phase and on the path to transforming and modernizing the Rbauction website and its technical architecture. Therefore, they are now looking for multiple Frontend Developers to join their forces, and this is where your input and skills will be needed!

You will join the Helsinki-based engineering office of approximately 30 professionals and work in a smaller, dedicated team focusing on one of the Rbauction domains. Your team will consist of a few other software engineers, a QA engineer, and an Engineering Manager, and the team’s main objective is to modernize and build the dedicated product domain and collaborate with US-based project teams.

In this role, you will participate in technical execution within the team and implement the web experience, while maintaining the best development practices. You’ll champion code and architectural quality, and safely and reliably make changes to production when needed. You will collaborate closely with your team of engineers, the UX/UI department, designers, product managers, developers, and other internal stakeholders to deliver compelling and efficient products. The main focus in your role is on the frontend development, but you and the whole team will contribute to the complete full-stack functionality of the Rbauction website.

This could be a perfect opportunity for a software engineer now wanting to work at a global product company and have an impact on the modernization of the Rbauction platform. We highly value strong teamwork acumen, willingness to improve your skills and the way things are done, and a drive to foster Ritchie Bros’ exceptional company culture.

We hope you are proficient in software development with at least a couple of years of professional experience, and solid frontend skills in React. Skills in Next.js are considered a significant asset. Prior experience in backend development is not mandatory but is considered a bonus. The auction software is built with the following technologies and frameworks, but we don’t expect you to have experience with all of them: CircleCI, Helm, Kubernetes (EKS), CodeClimate, Snyk, GitHub, Spotbugs, Vault, Java, Java Spring Boot, Jacoco, Next.js, React, Nx, Jest, AWS, OpenSearch, DynamoDB.

Ritchie Bros offers you:

We hope you have:

  • Relevant degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in software development, focusing on frontend
  • Solid technical skills in React
  • Supportive approach to teamwork, strong communication and problem-solving skills combined with an ability to work in a multicultural team
